Memory of Trees

Our roots from the deep detect your presence, just like those who came before you. The stories we’ve heard, the sorrowful groans of bodies lying in the brush. We’ve heard everything, every one of your secrets are kept, bound up in our memories. One woman weeps over her lover, he betrayed her and she came back to us, our family tree to find the markings they etched in our skin.

“Forever in love, nothing can pull us apart.”
