As Fate Would Have It

I poured out my heart

but you only see it as art

to slash and cover over

how you see fit

you redefine love as abstract

a kaleidoscope with no hope.

Love isn’t logical, empirical

at best, so take it for what it’s worth

a minor test

of heartstrings, a wire act;

sooner or later you’re sure to fall,

rise above it all in crystal clear madness.
